Original Kiss Lineup

The band formed in New York City in 1973 with four members: Paul Stanley on rhythm guitar and vocals, Gene Simmons on bass and vocals, Ace Frehley on lead guitar and vocals, and Peter Criss on drums and vocals. Their matching face paint and stage personas defined their early image.

Later Official Members

After Frehley and Criss left in the early 1980s, the lineup changed multiple times. Notable replacements included Vinnie Vincent on lead guitar, Mark St. John, Bruce Kulick, and Eric Singer on drums. Stanley and Simmons remained the constant core throughout these changes.

Current and Former Members

As of recent years, the active touring version of Kiss has included Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Tommy Thayer on lead guitar, and Eric Singer on drums. Former members such as Ace Frehley and Peter Criss have reunited with the band for tours and recordings.
