Nick Castle and the Original Michael Myers
In the original 1978 film, Nick Castle portrayed Michael Myers during most of the movie. He is widely credited as the primary performer who defined the character’s iconic, silent presence. Tony Moran and Tommy Lee Wallace also wore the mask in select scenes.
George P. Wilbur and the 1988 Sequel
George P. Wilbur took over the role for Halloween II, the 1981 sequel, though he is most associated with the 1988 follow-up Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers. He played the adult Michael Myers in multiple entries during that era.
Later Actors Across the Franchise
Several other performers have portrayed Michael Myers in subsequent films. Dakota Fanning played his young niece in Halloween 5, while Tyler Mane and James Jude Courtney shared the role in the 2018 reboot and its sequels. Each brought a different physical interpretation to the character.
