How the Night King Died in the Battle of Winterfell
During the fight, the Night King rode an undead dragon and unleashed wights on the living defenders. After Bran Stark drew the Night King’s attention, Arya ambushed him from behind and drove the dagger into his chest, causing him to shatter and collapse.
Why Arya Stark Was Able to Defeat the Night King
Arya’s training with the Faceless Men and her skills as a stealthy fighter allowed her to get close to the Night King unnoticed. The use of Valyrian steel, one of the few materials capable of destroying White Walkers, made her attack fatal and fulfilled the prophecy of the Prince That Was Promised in a broader sense.
