Lowest-Paid Starting Quarterback in the NFL
As of the 2024 season, the lowest-paid starting quarterback in the NFL is typically a rookie on a first-year deal. The exact player changes each year as rookies sign and veterans move on or retire.
Why Rookie Quarterbacks Earn the Least
First-round picks receive a fixed rookie salary based on their draft slot, which is far below veteran minimums. These contracts are short and controlled by the league's collective bargaining agreement, making them the baseline for the lowest-paid starter.
