Where Is Makalu Located
Makalu is an eight-thousander located in the Mahalangur Himal subrange of the Himalayas. It lies on the border between Nepal and the Tibet Autonomous Region of China.

The summit sits at approximately 27.8895° N, 87.0889° E, near the Chamlang and Baruntse peaks. It is about 19 kilometers southeast of Mount Everest.
How to Reach Makalu
Most expeditions access Makalu via Kathmandu, flying or driving to the Makalu-Barun Valley trailhead. The standard route approaches from the south through Nepal's Sankhuwasabha and Makalu-Barun National Park.
