Ozzy Osbourne's Age When He Joined Black Sabbath
Ozzy Osbourne was 18 years old when he joined the band that became Black Sabbath in late 1968. The group formed in Birmingham, England, and the young vocalist quickly became a defining part of their sound.
Early Band Formation and Timeline
Before adopting the Black Sabbath name, the musicians played in earlier projects such as Earth and Polka Tulk Blues Band. Ozzy joined the lineup around the time they shifted toward heavier, darker material, helping shape the band's identity during their formative years.
Why His Age Matters to the Band's Story
Ozzy's youth meant he was still developing his vocal style and stage presence while recording early albums like "Black Sabbath" and "Paranoid." His age highlights how the band's classic sound emerged from a tight-knit group of young musicians in the Birmingham rock scene.
